Pioneer Paul MentaA Chef, A Rum Maker, and A Pioneer of Kitesurfing. Paul Menta soars over the backcountry of the Florida Keys & Key West

As a young artist, trying to find sense of everything in a new world, you explore.  You go outside of your comfort zone and discover new things.  For some its an escape, others inspiration.  But what happens when you take both, combine them and add in your expression.  You escape to be free, which in turn will provide you inspiration.  As a photographer I find this happens a lot.  I am always searching for inspiration, not really knowing the direction but in time it becomes clear.  Kitesurfing to me is a lot like photography.  There are rules, techniques, and guidelines that are set with the creation of each area of interest.  The real fun begins when you break outside of those, while still relying on them as a guide.  The same thing can be said about "The Sailboat Sessions" that encountered this spring.  A pioneer of Kitesurfing, an up and coming kiter, and a new photographer all expressing their passions.  Madness, clarity, and artistic vision all combined for a few memorable days.

Kitesurf Magazine got wind of all the fun we were having, and decided to contact me.  We took a different approach to normal stories you read in a magazine.  More of an expression of art, the factors that created the expression, and a result of beauty, peace, and life.  Take a look into my lens and my mind:
